The Restoration of All Things: Unraveling Acts 3:21 and the Kingdom of God
We are standing at an important juncture in the timeline of human history, a time of the restoration of all things foretold in Acts 3:21. This prophecy is central to understanding the prophetic journey of the Church and the ultimate rule of Kingdom of God. As we delve into this profound scripture, we uncover the consequences of humanity's rebellion against God and the ultimate plan for restoration.
The Sovereignty of God and the Fall of Humanity
At the beginning, when Jehovah created all things, they were perfect. However, an event shattered the paradise that was humanity's home, leading to pain, suffering, and death. This pivotal moment is the result of humans asserting their independence and defying God's sovereignty. In the Garden of Eden, God gave a simple commandment to Adam and Eve: not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. This tree symbolized God's right to determine what is right and wrong, and it tested humanity's respect for His authority.
When they disobeyed by eating from the tree, humanity placed their judgment above God's, indicating a desire to govern themselves. This act amounted to a rebellion against God, introducing sin and death into the world, as described in Romans 5:12. The first couple, Adam and Eve, along with the rebellious angel Satan, were thus made enemies of God. They challenged His sovereignty and questioned whether God rules in the best interests of His subjects or if humans would be better off governing themselves. This rebellion, however, did not go unpunished, and God allowed the passage of time to rectify the situation.
Humanity's History and the Need for Restoration
The last 6,000 years of human history have been a testament to the failure of human governance without God's rule. Our history is filled with injustice, pain, and suffering. The earth has been polluted and ravaged by human greed and selfishness. This period has underscored the fact that humans cannot govern themselves successfully without the guiding hand of Jehovah's rulership. It has been evident that God's rule is necessary for the well-being of His creation.
According to the prophecy in Daniel 2:44, God has decreed that human governments will eventually be replaced by His perfect Kingdom. This Kingdom will bring an end to all suffering and pain, and God will be honored and respected as He deserves. The rulers in this new order will be faithful, righteous servants of God, appointed by Him to administer His perfect rule.
The Central Figure: Jesus Christ
The restoration of all things centers around the central figure of Jesus Christ, the promised offspring of the ancient prophets. Jesus is the key to God's ultimate purpose of restoring perfect order to creation. The very first prophecy spoken by God after the fall in Eden, Genesis 3:14-15, focused on Jesus. This prophecy foreshadowed the coming of the Messiah, the One who would reverse the curse of sin and death and bring about the restoration of all things.
Jesus' mission, as preached by Him and His followers, was to bring the Kingdom of God to earth. Through His teachings and miracles, Jesus demonstrated the principles of the Kingdom and showed us how to live in harmony with God's will. His resurrection and ascension to heaven mark the beginning of a new era where the Kingdom of God is being established.
Embracing the Kingdom of God
The Church, as God's chosen people, is called to manifest the Kingdom of God on earth. This involves preaching the Kingdom and living out its principles in our daily lives. We are to bring heaven to earth by spreading the message of the Kingdom and showing the light of God's love and truth to the world. As we do this, we contribute to the restoration of all things.
