The Critical Importance of Water: Why Your Body Falls Apart Without It

I love easy questions…..ldquo;what happens if you don’t drink waterrdquo; You die! Next easy question please.

Pure water is so essential to maintaining a healthy body. Your body doesn’t need to work hard to separate the chemicals, dyes, and sugars from what it really needs—water. There is no other beverage your body needs to live; everything else is more work than it’s worth. Except caffeine, I need caffeine.

Remarkable Human Resilience

Humans are a remarkable species. We can tolerate immense things. We can survive for a long time in extreme conditions. We have been known to crash land in a jungle, walk hundreds of miles, and have worms eat our muscles during the walk. We can survive having a lightning strike us and can even survive if our spine is torn apart in an accident.

I was born 50 years ago in a tiny town, 2 months premature. I survived against all odds. I have since lost a kidney and seen a person on the brink of death become an active and amazing person.

You can survive sometimes for months with almost no food. It isn’t good for you, but you can survive. But not having any intake of any fluids will kill you in just 3–4 days. Your kidneys will simply stop functioning, and your organs will give out. Perhaps a day or two more if the air is moist. Small things matter.

Water: Number One Importance

Water is extremely important; it is like the number one important thing, well, air is another thing you only live a few minutes without it. Anyway, I don’t know biology that well to say in detail how water works in your body. Just that oxygen and water keep your body going, keep your cells and organs going. It moves oxygen from your lungs all over your body. It can’t do that without water. Basically, you dry up.

Your body is close to 70% water. Like all biological systems, it loves a balance but not by much. If your blood pH levels change by just a fraction, you are dead. Balance is the key. You need to maintain water levels.

Importance of Water for Body Function

The body needs water to function correctly. It can be just water on its own or in other beverages and foods to a limited extent. If you don’t take in any water, you will die. The health of your body, the functioning of your organs, and even your longevity depend on consistent hydration. Your digestive system uses water to lubricate and move food through your body. Your bloodstream uses water to transport nutrients to your cells. Your skin uses water to stay plump and youthful. Your brain needs water to operate efficiently.

Conclusion

Hydration is crucial for optimal health. Without water, your body will fall apart. Ensuring you drink enough water is one of the simplest yet most effective ways to maintain overall health, boost energy, and prevent various health issues. Stay hydrated, and stay healthy.
