Exploring the Sea World: A Personal Journey
Exploring the Sea World: A Personal Journey
Our world is vast and diverse, from the deep ocean to the vast wilderness of rivers. Each offers a unique and enriching experience. Whether it's the excitement of fishing or the simplicity of a river bath, exploring the sea world can be a profoundly satisfying adventure.
A Annual River Bath: A Time-Honored Tradition
One of my favorite traditions is the annual bath in the Brahmaputra River on Ashokashtami. According to local belief, the river is said to become pure on this day, and I join in the ritual to cleanse my body and soul.
I usually immerse myself in the river by using a mug to scoop water. Standing on the riverbank, I take a sip and feel the cool water. It’s a small but significant ritual, and I cherish the experience deeply. The Brahmaputra, with its deep waters, holds a special place in my heart. However, my fear of the deep waters prevents me from crossing the ocean.
The idea of flying over the ocean fills me with more fear than excitement. The vastness of the water, the unknown depths, and the unpredictability of the weather all contribute to my trepidation. The thought of being airborne above the ocean is enough to make my fear reach a peak, almost to the point of inducing a state of shock.
Marine Life: A Treasure Trove of Discovery
Despite my fear of deep waters, I have spent 11 seasons on fishing boats in Alaska. The experience and the marine life there are sights to behold. Alaska’s seas offer a mix of rugged beauty and potential danger. The waters are often rough, and the conditions can be quite treacherous.
Yet, these challenges have only made the experience all the more rewarding. The days spent out on the boats, engaged in the simple yet profound activity of pleasure fishing, have been a joy. The pleasure of catching fish in good weather conditions is an experience that encapsulates the essence of the sea world for me.
Reflection on Sea World Exploration
Exploring the sea world, whether through a river bath or a fishing trip, has been a significant part of my life. Each experience, whether it involves the cleanliness of a river on Ashokashtami or the excitement of a fishing day, teaches us to appreciate the beauty and complexity of our world.
For me, the sea world is a source of wonder and a place of peace. It teaches us about the unpredictability of nature and the importance of respect for such forces. It’s a reminder of the beauty that lies both close to home and in the vast unknowns of the deep ocean.
In conclusion, whether you embrace the simplicity of a river bath or the adventure of a fishing trip, the sea world offers endless opportunities for exploration and discovery. It’s a journey that enriches us both spiritually and practically. So, let us take every opportunity to explore the wonders of the sea world.
