One day, you might be fabricating custom electrodes or developing algorithms to analyze neural recordings. Another day, you could be in the operating room performing surgeries to implant recording devices in model organisms. These multifaceted skills are crucial for conducting cutting-edge research in the field of neuroscience.
The experimental workflow in neuroscience often has distinct phases, but it isn't a strict progression. Behavioral electrophysiology, for instance, involves recoding neural activity with electrodes. The process can look like this:
